All final year medical students (Students Doctors) under MOE, DANA, BAS, MORA, or SBPP intending on doing postgraduate medical training in Australia or New Zealand are required to submit a formal application to EAUC. Medical graduates are expected to do a year worth of training as an intern doctor, before they can practice independently.

Final year students are advised to submit their Online Postgraduate Medical Training Application - Online PGMT as early. It is advisable to submit the Online PGMT when applying for internship (registration) to private or state health institutions. Students are required to seek approval from MOE by writing to the EAUC's Director of Studies and provide the following support documents in pdf format only.

  • Letter addressed to Director of Studies - seeking approval
  • Details of internship program,
  • Details of internship applications
  • Copy of acceptance letter
  • Copy of employment contract.

Once the Online PGMT is received and the support documents are complete, EAUC will forward the application to the MOE. Students are also advised to email a copy to Postgraduate Advisory Training Board (PGATB) at [email protected] Internss are advised to keep a folio of their traning history as this will faciliate further applications

Interns and doctors planning to do further medical training need to submit their application at least six (6) months before their training or contract expires. Applicants are advised to submit to the EAUC and PGATB the following online form and support documents.

  • Online PGMT
  • Letter of Intent for Further Training
       - address to Director of Studies
       - letter seeking approval
  • Letter of References - At Least 3
  • Latest Training Progress Report
  • Current Employment Contract
  • Supervisor Report From Previous Placements (if applicable)
  • Previous Employment Contracts (if applicable)
  • RACGP or Equivalent Registration (if applicable)
  • Examination Result (if applicable)

Any missing documentation may cause unnecessary delays or make effect the outcome of your application. Students are also advised to email a copy to the PGAT board. This will help to facilitate your application as MOE will only make a decisions on your training requirements based on MOH’s recommendations.
